BW's Adam Sanders Earns Medalist Honors at Capital Tourney

GALENA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University sophomore Adam Sanders (Fairview Park) shot rounds of a career-low 69 yesterday and 77 today (Saturday, March 23, 2013) for a 146-stroke total to earn medalist honors at the Capital University Purple & White Invitational Tournament at the par-72 and 6,859-yard Royal American Links in Galena, Ohio.

BW carded an 18-hole final day score of 328 strokes and when combined with its first day total of 326 strokes equalled 654 total strokes to place 12th. NCAA Division II Ohio Dominican University won the event.

In addition to Sanders, junior Augie Ward (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) had rounds of 86 and 81 for a 167 total. He was followed by junior Chris Nader (Westlake) with rounds of 82 and 87 for a total of 169, sophomore Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/  Medina Highland) had rounds of 90 and 84 for a 174-stroke total, and sophomore Andy Ingram (Vermilion) had rounds of 89 and 86 for a 175-stroke total.

In addition and playing as an individual, freshman Connor Duplin (North Canton/ Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas) had rounds of 95 and 82 for a 177-stroke total.  

BW returns to action in two weeks when it competes at the Muskingum University Spring Invitational Tournament at Eagle Sticks Golf Club in Zanesville, Ohio.
