BW Men’s Golfers Open Spring Slate in Arizona

PHOENIX ARIZ. -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team opened the spring portion of its 2012-13 schedule today (Thursday, March 14, 2013) in a tri-match against Arizona Christian College and St. Xavier (Ill.) University at the par-72 and 7,216-yard Moon Valley Country Club in Phoenix, Arizona.

BW carded an 18-hole score of 331 strokes.  St. Xavier topped both teams with 306, and Arizona Christian shot 314.

Sophomore Adam Sanders (Fairview Park) led the Yellow Jackets by shooting a 78.  Sophomore Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/ Medina Highland) totaled 83 strokes, and was followed by sophomore Andy Ingram (Vermilion) at 84, junior Augie Ward (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) at 86, and junior Chris Nader (Westlake) at 88.  Only the top-four golfers factored into the team score.

Freshman Connor Duplin (North Canton/ St. Thomas Aquinas), competing individually, matched Ingram by shooting an 84.

The Yellow Jackets return to the links Friday and Saturday, March 22-23, 2013, for the Purple & White Invitational, hosted by Capital University, at Royal American Links in Galena, Ohio.  Tee time is to be determined.
