Men Complete First Day of Purple & White Invitational

GALENA, OH. -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team completed the first day of the Purple & White Invitational today hosted by Capital University at the par-72 and 6,859-yard Royal American Links in Galena, Ohio.

BW carded an 18-hole first day score of 326 strokes good for an 11th place standing out of 13 teams. Ohio Dominican University finished the first day in first place with a score of 303.

Sophomore Adam Sanders (Fairview Park) led the Yellow Jackets by shooting a tournament low of 69. In addition to Sanders, junior Chris Nader (Westlake) totaled  82 strokes, and was followed by junior Augie Ward (Medina/Walsh Jesuit) at 86. Sophomores Andy Ingram (Vermilion) and Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/Medina Highland) totaled scores of 89 and 90, respectively.

Freshman Connor Duplin (North Canton/ St. Thomas Aquinas), competing individually, shot a 95.

The Yellow Jackets will complete day two of the Purple & White Invitational tomorrow (Saturday, March 23, 2013). Tee time is to be determined. BW returns to action again next weekend (April 5-6) when they will compete in the Muskingum Spring Invitational hosted by Muskingum University at Eagle Sticks Golf Club in Zanesville, Ohio.
