Jackets Finish Seventh at the Rosencrans-Maurer Tourney

SPRINGFIELD, OHIO --  The Baldwin-Wallace College men's golf team finished seventh today (Sunday, October 2, 2011) at the annual Wittenberg University Rosencrans-Maurer Invitational Tournament at the Windy Knoll Golf Club.  This was the fourth and final fall tournament for the Yellow Jackets.

B-W totalled 611 overall strokes to place seventh of 19 teams with host Wittenberg winning the title.  The Yellow Jackets shot a 308-stroke team total on the first day and a solid and improved 303 on the second day on the par-72 and 6,834-yard Windy Knoll Golf Club layout.

Leading the way for the Yellow Jackets was senior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Padua) who carded rounds of 74 and 75 for a two-day total of 149 strokes. He was one of three B-W student-athletes to each tie for the low round of the day.

In addition to Jaskolski, junior Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit)  and sophomore Chris Nader (Westlake) each had rounds of 77 and 75 to each finish with a 152-stroke total. Sophomore Augie Ward (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) had back-to-back rounds of 80 for a 160-stroke total and senior Matt Warren (Copley) had rounds of 83 yesterday and 78 today for a 161 total.

The Yellow Jacket golf team will resume play this spring with its annual spring break trip in early March and culminating with the 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament.
