HARROD, OHIO  –  The Baldwin-Wallace College men's golf team placed fifth of eight teams today (Friday, September 16, 2011) at the 27-hole Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational hosted by Ohio Northern University. Wilmington College and Marietta College (no men's golf team), did not compete in this event.

B-W totalled 476 total strokes on the par-72 and 6,890-yard Colonial Players Club layout to place fifth. Otterbein placed first  with 455 total strokes and the host Polars Bears finish second with 474 and Mount Union and Capital finished tied for third with 475 total strokes.

For the Yellow Jackets, junior Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit) led the way as he finished fourth overall with a team and tournament tying-low of 73 for the first 18 holes and carded a 41 on the final nine for a 114-stroke total. He was followed by senior Matt Warren (Copley) with a 119-stroke total, including a team-low 38 on the final nine holes and sophomore Augie Ward (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) carded a 120-stroke total. Rounding out B-W's scorecard senior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/Padua Franciscan) with a 123-stroke total, senior  freshman Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/ Medina Highland) finished with a stoke total of 128.

Individually, sophomore Chris Nader (Westlake) carded a 118, freshman Andy Ingram (Vermilion) at 119, senior Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Riverside Poly) at 127 and freshman Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/Fairview) with 129.

B-W is next in action on Sunday and Monday, September 25-26 when the team will travel to Alliance to compete in the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational at Tannenhauf Golf Course on the first day and the Alliance Country Club on the second day.  The Yellow Jackets will conclude their fall schedule on Saturday and Sunday, October 1-2 when they will travel to Springfield to compete in the Wittenberg University Fall Invitational.
