ALLIANCE, OHIO  –  The Baldwin-Wallace College men's golf team stands fifth after the first day of competition today (Sunday, September 25, 2011) at the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational Tournament at the Tannenhauf Golf Club.  The second and final 18 holes are scheduled for tomorrow with the Yellow Jackets teeing off at 9:00 a.m.

On the first day, B-W totalled 311 strokes on the par-72 and 6,694-yard Tannenhauf Golf Club layout to stand fifth. Nine total reams are competing with Point Park (Pa.) University and Walsh University currently tied for first at 301.

For the Yellow Jackets, sophomore Augie Ward (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) and senior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/Padua Franciscan) tied for the low rounds of the day for B-W as each student-athlete carded a 77. Following the duo was senior Matt Warren (Copley) with a 78, and both junior Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit) and sophomore Chris Nader (Westlake) each shot 79.

Playing as individuals, senior Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Riverside Poly) had a 78, freshmen Andy Ingram (Vermilion) and Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/Fairview) each had an 82 and freshman Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/ Medina Highland) had an 85.

Following tomorrow's second round at Mt. Union, the Yellow Jackets will conclude their fall schedule on Saturday and Sunday, October 1-2 when they will travel to Springfield to compete in the Wittenberg University Fall Invitational.
