Men’s Team Finishes Seventh at The Mount Union Invitational

ALLIANCE, OHIO  –  The Baldwin-Wallace College men's golf team finished seventh of eight teams today (Monday, September 26, 2011) at the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational Tournament at the Tannenhauf Golf Club.

On the last day, B-W totalled 307 strokes for a two-day total of 618 strokes on the par-72 and 6,694-yard Tannenhauf Golf Club layout.  Eight total teams competed in the tournament with Point Park (Pa.) University winning the tournament with a combined score of 592 as they edged Otterbein University by 8 strokes.

For the Yellow Jackets, senior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/Padua Franciscan) had the low round of the day for B-W as he fired a 71.  Jaskolski had a two-day total of 148 which placed him fourth overall individually.  Following Jaskolski, senior Matt Warren (Copley) had a combined score of 156 after a day two score of 78.  Junior Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit) also carded a 78 for a total of 157.  Sophomore Augie Ward (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) tied Spalding with a total of 157 after an 80.  To end team play, sophomore Chris Nader (Westlake) carded an 80 for to bring his tournament total to 159.

Playing as individuals, freshman Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/Fairview) carded an 83 for a two-day total of 165.  Also, senior Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Riverside Poly) had a two-day total of 165 after an 87.  Freshman Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/ Medina Highland) had an 85 to total a 167.  To end individual play, freshman Andy Ingram (Vermilion) carded an 88 to bring his two-day total to a 170.

The Yellow Jackets will conclude their fall schedule on Saturday and Sunday, October 1-2 when they will travel to Springfield to compete in the Wittenberg University Fall Invitational.
