MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA – The Baldwin-Wallace College men's golf team placed second of four teams today (Tuesday, March 6, 2012) on their Annual Spring Break Trip. The Yellow Jackets carded a 323 team total on the Love Course of the Barefoot Landing Resort. This was B-W's first of seven spring events.
The Yellow Jacket total of 323 trailed first place Point Park (Pa.) University by nine strokes and were four better than Westminster (Pa.) College. The fourth school was Marywood (Pa.) University with a 355 total.
For the Yellow Jackets, senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Fransiscan) and sophomore Augie Ward (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) led the way as each carded an 80 on the par-72 and 6,543-yard Love Course. Following the duo was senior Matt Warren (Copley) with an 81, junior Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit) with an 82 and senior Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Poly) with a 92.
Playing as individuals freshman Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/ Medina Highland) had an 85, sophomore Chris Nader (Amherst/ Steele) had an 86, freshman Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/ Fairview) had a 93 and freshman Andy Ingram (Vermilion) had a 98.
The Yellow Jackets return home on Sunday, March 11 and begin northern play on March 30-31 when they participate in the Annual Muskingum University Invitational Tournament at the EagleSticks Golf Club in South Zanesville. B-W will play in six northern events and culminating in the 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Tournament from April 27-29 at the Rivergreens Golf Club in West Lafayette and hosted by Muskingum University.
