Men’s Team Stands Sixth After First Day of OAC Tourney

WEST LAFAYETTE, OHIO – The Baldwin-Wallace College men's golf team carded a round of 317 strokes today (Friday, April 27) and stands in sixth place after the first day of the 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Tournament at the River Greens Golf Course.  The teams plays 27 holes each of the first two days and 18 holes on the final day.

B-W totalled 317 strokes on the par-72 and 6,600-yard River Greens G.C. layout and is 15 strokes back of first place and nationally-ranked Otterbein University.  

In terms of team play for the Yellow Jackets (five golfers make up a team with the top four scores counting toward the team total), senior Matt Warren (Copley) led the way by carding a 78. He was followed by senior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Fransiscan) and sophomore Augie Warde (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) each with 79s, junior Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit) with an 81 and freshman Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/ Fairview) with an 88.

The winner of the 2012 OAC Championship Tournament receives the OAC's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
