Men’s Team Stands Sixth After Second Day of OAC Tourney

WEST LAFAYETTE, OHIO – The Baldwin-Wallace College men's golf team carded rounds of 314 and 310 strokes today (Saturday, April 28) and stands in sixth place after the second day and 54 holes of the 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Tournament at the River Greens Golf Course. The teams play the final 18 holes tomorrow, Sunday, April 29.

After 54 holes, B-W totals 941 strokes on the par-72 and 6,600-yard River Greens G.C. layout. The Yellow Jackets are 34 strokes back of first place Otterbein University (907).  

In terms of team play for the Yellow Jackets (five golfers make up a team with the top four scores counting toward the team total), junior Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit) leads the way and has carded rounds of 81-71-76=228. He is followed by senior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Fransiscan) with rounds of 79-78-76=233, senior Matt Warren (Copley) with rounds of 78-80-80-238, sophomore Augie Ward (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) with rounds of 79-85-81=245 and freshman Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/ Fairview) with rounds of 88-87-78=253.

The winner of the 2012 OAC Championship Tournament receives the OAC's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
