Baldwin Wallace Men Third at 2010 OAC Fall Golf Invitational

BEREA, OHIO --  The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished third of nine schools today (Saturday, September 18, 2010) at the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golf Invitational Tournament, hosted by John Carroll University at the Fowlers Mill Golf Course in Chesterland.


The event was a one-day and 27-hole tourney. The Yellow Jackets carded an 18-hole total of 306 and a 9-hole total of 146 for a 27-hole total of 452 strokes. Host JCU won the team title with 444 strokes and Otterbein University was second with 449.

Individually for the Yellow Jackets, sophomore Stephen Spalding (Akron/ Walsh Jesuit), this week's OAC Player of the Week, carded a 75-34 for a 109-stroke total to place in a tie for second. He was followed by junior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Holy Name) with 110, senior Academic All-OAC student-athlete Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars Area) had a 115, senior Matt Weiss (Mentor) had a 118 and junior Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Riverside Poly) had a 124.  Spalding and Jaskolski tied for the low round for nine holes at 34 and Spalding had the low-18 with a 75.

The Yellow Jacket men are back in action for the final time this fall on Saturday and Sunday, October 2-3 when they travel to Springfield, Ohio to play at the Wittenberg University Fall Tournament at the Windy Knoll Golf Course.  Following the New Year, BW will begin preparations for its spring season, including the 2011 OAC Championship Tournament.
