BW Men's Golf Team Finishes Fifth at Ohio Wesleyan Fall Invite

BEREA, OHIO -- Sophomore Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit) finished third as an individual and led the Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team to a fifth place finish at the 36-hole Ohio Wesleyan University Fall Invitational today (Tuesday, September 7, 2010) at the Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware.


Spalding carded rounds of 77 and 75 for a 36-total of 152 strokes. As a team, BW finished fifth of the eight teams participating with rounds of 321 and 323 strokes for a total of 644 strokes.


In addition to Spalding, junior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Franciscan) shot 79 on the first 18 holes and finished the day with a 36-hole total of 160. Junior Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Riverside Poly) carded rounds of 85 and 83 for a 168 total and senior Matt Weiss (Concord/Mentor) shot 171 (87-84). Senior Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars Area) competed only on the first 18 holes and shot an 80.


Playing as an individual, freshman Chris Nader (Westlake) opened with an 81, but finished the second 18 holes with a 79, good for a total of 160. In addition as an individual, junior Scott Rosenau (Amherst/ Steele) had a 176 total (92-84).


The Yellow Jacket men return to action at the Clarion (Pa.) University Tournament on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 12-13 at Clarion Oaks Golf Club in Clarion, Pa.
