BW Men's Golf Team Finishes Seventh at Muskingum University Spring Invitational

ZANESVILLE, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished in seventh place after the second and final day (Saturday, March 26) of the 2011 Muskingum University Spring Invitational Tournament at EagleSticks Golf Course in Zanesville, Ohio.

The Yellow Jackets shot 306 on day two and carded a two-day total of 614 for the tournament. Malone University won the team title.

BW was led by sophomore Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit) who shot his second straight round of  76 on the par-70, 6,500-yard EagleSticks layout for a two-day total of 152. 

Also for BW, junior Matt Warren (Copley) fired a 76 for a two-day total of 154.  Junior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/Padua Fransican) and freshman Augie Ward (Medina/Walsh Jesuit) each shot a 77 for the second straight day to finish up at 154 for the tournament.  Freshman Chris Nader (Westlake) rounded out the day with a 79 for a total of 162 strokes.

Playing as individuals, junior Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Poly) ended the tournament with a 36-hole score of 168 (80-88) and senior Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./Mars Area) had a 173 (88-85).

BW is back in action on April 9-10 when it travels to Granville, Ohio to play in the Denison University Ted Barclay Tournament.
