BW Men's Golf Team Defeats Mount San Jacinto (Calif.) in Dual Match on Spring Trip to California

SAN JACINTO, CALIF. -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team defeated Mount San Jacinto (Calif.) College today (Tuesday, March 8) in a dual match at the Country Club at Saboda Springs on the team's spring trip to PGA West in California.


BW carded a total of 422 strokes to defeat Mount San Jacinto, who recorded a team score of 446. The match was scored under the play six, score five format.


The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman Augie Ward (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) who fired an 80 on the par-72, 7,101 yard Saboda Springs layout to claim medalist honors. Ward was followed by freshman Chris Nader (Westlake) and sophomore Stephen Spalding (Stow/Walsh Jesuit) who both shot an 82. Also for BW, junior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/Padua Franciscan) had an 87, junior Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Poly) returned to his home state and shot a 91 and junior Matt Warren (Copley) golfed a 95.


Playing as individuals, junior Scott Rosenau (Amherst/Steele) shot a 100 and senior Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./Mars Area) had a 102.


BW returns to action up north on March 25-26 when they play in the Muskingum Spring Invitational at EagleSticks G.C. in Zanesville. Tee times are TBA.
