WEST LAFAYETTE, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished fifth  of nine teams today (Sunday, May 1, 2011) after the second day of the three-day and 54-hole Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Tournament at the River Greens Golf Club.

BW carded a 316-stroke total today for a three-day total 916 strokes for the OAC championship on the par-72 and 6,668-yard River Greens layout.  Mount Union, who went wire to wire, captured the OAC title with a three day total of 890.  Otterbein  was second (903), John Carroll third (905), Ohio Northern fourth (913), BW fifth (916), Muskingum sixth (919), Heidelberg seventh (942), Capital eighth (949) and Wilmington did not finish the tournament.

BW was led by junior Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Franciscan), this week's OAC Golfer of the Week, who shot a final round 77 for a 54-hole total of 219 strokes to place second individually and earn All-OAC honors.  Sophomore Stephen Spalding (Stow/ Walsh Jesuit) carded a 78 today and a 75 yesterday and ended with 229 strokes for a 15th place finish and freshman Chris Nader (Westlake) finished with 235 strokes after rounds of 78, 79 and 78 to place tied for 28th.  Senior Academic All-OAC player Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars Area) carded an 83 today for a final total of 236 to take home 31st place. Junior Matt Warren (Copley) had 85 today after an 76 yesterday and completed the tournament with 249 strokes for a 39th place finish.
