BW Junior Matt Weiss Named OAC Men's Golfer of the Week for the Third Time in His Career

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University junior Matt Weiss (Concord/Mentor) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for his performance at the Nye Intercollegiate Tournament this weekend. This is the third time in his career that Weiss has received the OAC weekly honor.

Weiss placed third overall of 75 golfers in the field at the Nye Intercollegiate hosted by the College of Wooster on Friday and Saturday (April 23-24) at Wooster Country Club.

In round one, Weiss fired a school-record round of 68 on the par-72 layout. He followed with a 79 on day two and finished at 147 strokes for the tournament. Weiss won the Nye Intercollegiate at 152 strokes last season. 

For the season, Weiss is second on the team with a 77.27 stroke average in 11 rounds of spring action.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Friday and Saturday (April 30-May 1) at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Tournament hosted by Mount Union College at at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance, Ohio.
