BW Men's Golf Team Sixth After Day One of OAC Championship Tournament in Alliance

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team ranks sixth of nine teams after day one (Friday, April 29) of the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Tournament hosted by Mount Union College at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance, Ohio. The second and final day of the tournament begins tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m.

BW totaled 315 strokes on the par-72 and 6,694-yard Tannenhauf layout. Otterbein College (298) leads and is followed in the top five by Mount Union (308), Ohio Northern University (309), Heidelberg University (311) and John Carroll University (314).

The Yellow Jackets were led by senior two-time All-OAC player Nick Bryan (Zanesville/Rosecrans) with a 76 -- good for a tie for seventh place.

Sophomore Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/Parma Padua Franciscan) was second with a 77 and junior Matt Weiss (Concord/ Mentor) was third at 79. Senior Mike Falk (Strongsville) and freshman Stephen Spalding (Stow/Walsh Jesuit) rounded out the scoring with identical scores of 83.

The winner of the OAC Championship receives an automatic bid to the Division III National Championship Tournament. The top 10 individual finishers in this weekend's tournament receive All-OAC status.
