BW Men's Golf Team Finishes Fourth at 36-Hole Ohio Wesleyan Fall Invitational

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished in fourth place at the 36-hole Ohio Wesleyan University Fall Invitational today (Tuesday, September 15, 2009) at the Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio.

The Yellow Jackets carded rounds of 309 and 305 for a team total of 614 for 36 holes on the par-71 and 6,600 yard Oakhaven G.C. layout. Host Ohio Wesleyan was first as a team with a 36-hole total of 595, while John Carroll's Blake Ferguson was the tournament medalist, shooting rounds of 72-65=137 (-5).

For the Yellow Jackets, senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Mike Falk (Strongsville) led the way as he carded rounds of 76 and 74 for a total of 150 (+8), to tie for seventh as an individual. Senior 2-time All-OAC player Nick Bryan (Zanesville/ Rosecrans) golfed rounds of 76 and 77 for a 153, sophomore Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Franciscan) shot 156 (80-76), junior Matt Weiss (Mentor) had a 157 with rounds of 77 and 80, and junior Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars Area) shot rounds of 86 and 78 for a total of 164.

Playing as individuals, freshman Stephen Spalding (Stow/Walsh Jesuit) had a 153 (79-74), senior Cory Swaisgood (Fremont/ St. Joseph Central Catholic) shot a 160 (81-79) and freshman Connor Cronkite (Fairview, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) carded a 36-hole score of 164 (84-80).

The Yellow Jackets return to action on this Sunday and Monday (September 20 and 21) when they host the OAC Fall Invitational at Fox Meadow Country Club in Medina.
