BW Men's Golf Team Ties for Fifth at Muskingum University Spring Invitational

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished in a tie for fifth place after the second and final day (Saturday, March 27) of the 2010 Muskingum University Spring Invitational Tournament at Eagle Sticks Golf Course in Zanesville, Ohio.

The Yellow Jackets shot 313 on day two and 625 overall for the tournament.

Malone University won the team title at 558 strokes and was followed in the top five by Mount Union College (603), Otterbein College (611), Calvin (Mich.) College (613), BW (625) and host Muskingum (625).

On day two, freshman Stephen Spalding (Stow/Walsh Jesuit) led BW with a six-over par 76. Senior Nick Bryan (Zanesville/ Rosecrans) and sophomore Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/Parma Padua Franciscan) each shot 77 and junior Matt Weiss (Concord/Mentor) rounded out the scoring with an 83. Senior Mike Falk (Strongsville) was fifth for the Jackets with an 84.

Bryan and Jaskolski led BW for the tournament with identical two-day totals of 156 (79-76).

Competing as individuals, junior Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./Mars Area) shot 78, senior Cory Swaisgood (Fremont/St. Joseph's Central Catholic) shot 84 and sophomore Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Poly) shot 86.

BW is now idle until Saturday and Sunday, April 10-11, at the Denison University Ted Barclay Invitational at Granville Golf Course in Granville, Ohio.
