BW Men's Golf Team Places Third at Denison Fall Invitational in Granville

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished in third place of nine teams competing at the annual Denison University Fall Invitational (Saturday and Sunday, September 5-6, 2009) at the Granville Golf Club in Granville, Ohio. Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Mike Falk (Strongsville) placed fourth individually in the 52-person field.

The Yellow Jackets carded a second-round 302 after shooting a day-one 308 on the par-71 and 6,559 yard Granville Golf Club layout.

Individually on day two, Falk carded a 73 to bring his weekend total to 145 strokes. In addition, junior Matt Weiss (Mentor) had a 75  to tie for 10th place while senior Nick Bryan (Zanesville/ Rosecrans) and junior Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars Area) each shot 77 to round out the Yellow Jacket scoring. Freshman Connor Cronkite (Fairview, Pa./ Cathedral Prep) had an 83 after firing a 75 in his first collegiate round on Saturday.

Competing as individuals for BW, sophomore Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Franciscan) had a 78, junior Cory Swaisgood (Fremont/ St. Joseph Central Catholic) had a 79 and sophomore Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Riverside Poly) had an 85.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 15 when they travel to Delaware, Ohio to participate in the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational Tournament.
