BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team shot 303 and 309 over the final two rounds and finished fourth of nine teams competing at the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Spring Invitational hosted by Muskingum College at The River Greens Golf Club in West Lafayette, Ohio. Junior Mike Falk (Strongsville) averaged 73.67 over three rounds of golf and shot a career-best 69 in round two.
John Carroll University totaled 884 strokes for the weekend to finish first and was followed by Ohio Northern University (912), Otterbein College (913), Baldwin Wallace (916) and Mount Union College (919).
Falk's 69 in round two was the second best round of the weekend for any of the 54 golfers in the field.
In addition to Falk, junior Nick Bryan (Zanesville/ Roscrans) turned in rounds of 73, 73 and 76 to finish in a tie for seventh place overall. Sophomore Matt Weiss (Concord Township/ Mentor) averaged 77 over three rounds and finished tied for 19th and junior Cory Swaisgood (Fremont/ St. Joseph Central Catholic) averaged 80.66 to tie for 43rd. Sophomore Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars) finished fifth for the Yellow Jackets with an average of 85.67. Competing as an individual, junior Tom Jesko (Salem/ Senior) averaged 76 and finished second amongst players competing as individuals.
The Yellow Jackets will be in action on April 25 and 26 at the College of Wooster Invitational Tournament at The Wooster Country Club in Wooster, Ohio.
