Baldwin Wallace University Golfers Open Spring Schedule in Pheonix, Arizona

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team shot 310 in its first event on the 2009 spring schedule today (Thursday, March 12, 2009) at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Pheonix, Arizona on the annual Yellow Jacket spring break trip.

Division II Grand Canyon University totaled 281 strokes and Phoenix Community College shot 309 in the tri-match.

Leading the way for BW was junior Nick Bryan (Zanesville/Rosecrans) and sophomore Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./Mars) with18-hole totals of 75 strokes on the par-72, Palm Valley course. 

Also for the Yellow Jackets, freshman Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/Parma Padua Franciscan) shot a 78 and junior Cory Swaisgood (Fremont/St. Joseph Central Catholic) and sophomore Matt Weiss (Concord/Mentor) each totaled 82 strokes.

Competing as individuals, junior Mike Falk (Strongsville) shot 82, freshman Chris Juszczak (East Liverpool) shot 83, junior Tom Jesko (Salem/Senior) shot 88 and freshman Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Poly) shot 92.

BW's northern schedule begins on March 27-28 when the Yellow Jackets travel to South Zanesville, Ohio and the EagleSticks Golf Club to compete at the Muskingum College Spring Invitational.
