BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team shot a final round 303 and placed fourth of nine teams competing at the two-day Muskingum College Tournament at EagleSticks Golf Club in Zanesville this weekend (Friday and Saturday, March 27-28, 2009). Junior Nick Bryan (Zanesville/ Rosecrans) shot 69 on day two and placed second in the 64-person field.
Mount Union captured the team title and was followed by Muskingum and Ohio Northern.
Bryan's one-under par 69 brought his tournament total to 141 strokes and tied his career-best round shot during the fall of 2008 at Muskingum.
Also for the Yellow Jackets on day two, sophomore Matt Weiss (Concord/ Mentor) shot 76 and was followed by freshman Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Franciscan) and junior Cory Swaisgood (Fremont/ St. Joseph's Catholic Central) at 79 to round out the BW scoring. Sophomore Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars Area) finished fifth for BW with a final-day 82.
Competing individually, junior Tom Jesko (Salem/ Senior) shot 78, freshman Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Riverside Poly) shot 79, junior Mike Falk (Strongsville) shot 83, and freshman Chris Juszczak (East Liverpool) shot 85.
The Yellow Jackets return to action next weekend (April 4-5) at the Denison University Spring Invitational at the Granville Golf Club in Granville, Ohio.
