BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team shot an opening round 304 on the first of the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Spring Invitational hosted by Muskingum College at The River Greens Golf Club in West Lafayette, Ohio. BW currently stands in second place and is only four strokes behind first- place John Carroll University.
Leading the way for BW was junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Nick Bryan (Zanesville/ Rosecrans) with an 18-hole score of 73 on the par-72 layout. Bryan is tied for fifth overall in the field and is just two strokes off the lead.
Junior All-OAC player Mike Falk (Strongsville) totaled 74, which places him tied for eighth as an individual, sophomore Matt Weiss (Concord Township/ Mentor) carded a 76 and is tied for 14th as an individual, junior Cory Swaisgood (Fremont/ St. Joseph Central Catholic) tallied an 81 and sophomore Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars) rounded out the Yellow Jackets scoring with an 85.
Competing as an individual, junior Tom Jesko (Salem/ Senior) carded a 77. Jesko�s score places him in a tie for 20th place overall heading into Day Two tomorrow.
The OAC Spring Invitational concludes tomorrow with the final round of competition. The Yellow Jackets will be in action next on April 25th and 26th at the College of Wooster Invitational Tournament at The Wooster Country Club in Wooster, Ohio.
