BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team placed fourth out of 11 teams today (Monday, September 22, 2008) at the 36-hole Ohio Athletic Conference Invitational at Mohawk Golf and Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio.
The Yellow Jackets shot a 319 in the first round and cut that score by 11 strokes in the second round to 308.
Individually, junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Nick Bryan (Zanesville/ Bishop Rosecrans) carded rounds of 77 and 74 for a team-low 151 and placed sixth overall. Bryan was followed by sophomore Matt Weiss (Concord/ Mentor) who tied for 13th with a total of 154 after rounds of 81 and 73. Freshman Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Franciscan) tallied rounds of 79 and 81 for a total of 160. Sophomore Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars Area) and junior Cory Swaisgood (Fremont/ St. Joseph�s Central Catholic) carded rounds of 163 (82 and 81) and 166 (86 and 80), respectively.
In individual play, freshman Chris Juszczak (East Liverpool) shot a 79 in the first round and 86 in the second round for a total of 165. Junior Tom Jesko (Salem/ Senior) shot a 85 and a 82 for a total of 167 and freshman Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Riverside Poly) shot an 88 and a 90 for a total of 178.
The Yellow Jackets will next be in action on September 28-29 at the Mount Union College Invitational Tournament. The first day of action will take place at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance, Ohio. The tournament will conclude at Alliance Country Club.
