Baldwin Wallace Men's Golfers Fifth of Nine After Day One of Muskingum College Tournament

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team shot an opening round 302 to rank fifth of nine teams competing at the Muskingum College Tournament at EagleSticks Golf Club in Zanesville this afternoon (Friday, March 27, 2009). The Yellow Jackets are scheduled to tee-off the final round of competition at 10:50 a.m. tomorrow.

After 18 holes of golf, Mount Union leads the field at 287 strokes and is followed by Ohio Northern (297), Denison (298) and Muskingum (300).

Junior Nick Bryan (Zanesville/ Rosecrans) led the Yellow Jackets with a two-over par 72. Freshman Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Franciscan) shot a 74 and was followed by sophomore Matt Weiss (Concord/ Mentor) at 77 and sophomore Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars Area) at 79 to round out the BW scoring. Junior Cory Swaisgood (Fremont/ St. Joseph's Catholic Central) finished fifth for the Jackets at 82.

Competing individually, junior Mike Falk (Strongsville) shot 76, freshman Chris Juszczak (East Liverpool) and junior Tom Jesko (Salem/ Senior) shot 82, and freshman Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Riverside Poly) shot 84.
