BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished fifth out of 11 schools competing at the 2008 Ohio Wesleyan University Fall Invitational Tournament (Tuesday, September 16) at the Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware.
The Yellow Jackets tied their season-low round of 298 strokes during the first 18 holes and shot a 301 in the second round to finish one stroke behind fourth-place DePauw (Ind.) University.
Individually in round two, junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Nick Bryan (Zanesville/Bishop Rosecrans) carded a 73 to finish third overall in a field of 82. Sophomore Matt Weiss (Concord/ Mentor) shot a 78 and finished in a tie for 19th while freshman Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/Parma Padua Franciscan) and sophomore Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./Mars Area) tied for 33rd place after shooting respective round two scores of 74 and 79. Junior Cory Swaisgood (Fremont/ St. Joseph's Centeal Catholic) improved six strokes from his round one total to shoot a 76 in round two.
In addition and playing as individuals at OWU, freshman Chris Juszczak (East Liverpool) shot an 81, junior Tom Jesko (Salem/ Senior) had an 88, and freshman Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Riverside Poly) had an 89.
BW will next compete on Monday, Sept. 22 at the Ohio Athletic Conference 27-hole Fall Invitational Tournament, hosted by Heidelberg College, at the Mohawk Golf Club in Tiffin. Tee times are TBA.
