IRVING, Texas – Baldwin Wallace University senior football student-athletes Joey Marousek (North Royalton) and George Newcomb (West Seneca, N.Y.) have been selected to the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society.

Marousek and Newcomb are two of 2,016 football student-athletes from all divisions of NCAA and NAIA to be recognized.  To achieve the honor, a student-athlete had to maintain a 3.2 grade point average or higher throughout their college careers.

Marousek carries a 3.90 grade point average in engineering. This season, he appeared in nine games with seven starts.  Marousek completed 130-of-224 passes for 1,693 yards with 14 touchdowns.  He rushed for 266 yards on 66 carries with four touchdowns.  Marousek was named the 45th Lee Tressel Shrine Classic BW Player of the Game on September 2. 

For his career, Marousek appeared in 19 games with 17 starts.  He completed 227-of-417 passes for 2,996 yards with 25 touchdowns.  Marousek rushed for 340 yards on 110 carries. He holds the Finnie Stadium game record for yards with 391 and pass attempts 43.  Marousek is also tied for the Finnie Stadium game record with 25 completions. 

Off the field, he is a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree, Academic All-OAC selection, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

Newcomb carries a 4.00 grade point average in business analytics.  This season, he played and started in all 10 games at left guard.  Newcomb anchored the offensive line that averaged 388.8 yards of total offense per game.  He was named to the All-OAC first-team.

In his career, Newcomb appeared and started in 30 games and played every position on the offensive at least one time during his career.  BW has averaged 373.8 yards of total offense per game during his career.  He was a two-time All-OAC performer.

Off the field, Newcomb is a three-time Academic All-OAC honoree, two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
