Today's Contest
Today is final road game of the 2021 fall regular season and the ninth Ohio Athletic Conference game for the nationally-ranked Baldwin Wallace University football team as it travels to Ada for a clash with Ohio Northern University. Last week, BW picked up its seventh win of the season and its fifth straight as it rallied from 14-points down to defeat Marietta College  by a final score of 24-21.  Ohio Northern fell to No. 4-nationally ranked University of Mount Union by a final score of 42-35.

The Series
BW and Ohio Northern are meeting for the 46th time on the gridiron. The Yellow Jackets hold a 30-14-1 advantage in the all-time series  The Yellow Jackets have won seven of the last 12 meetings. BW is 2-4 in its last five games in Ada with its last victory coming with a 28-27 nail bitter in 2015.

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert
Hilvert is in his fifth season at BW and has a record of  28-12 and OAC slate of 23-12. He is 94-38 in his 11th overall season and is 1-2 against Ohio Northern. 

Ohio Northern Head Coach Dean Paul 
Paul is in his 18th season at Ohio Northern and is the all-time winningest coach in program history with a record of 114-62. He has an OAC mark of 99-61. Paul is 154-74 in 23 overall seasons and is 6-10 against BW.   

Last Game vs. Ohio Northern -- November 9, 2019:
BW scored 28 points on 286 yards passing, 143 yards rushing and 429  total yards.  Ohio Northern scored 35 points on 173 yards rushing, 155 yards passing and 358 total yards. 

Scouting the Yellow Jackets: 
In week eight of the season, BW scored 24, including 21 unanswered and outscoring Marietta 24-7 the remainder of the game,  on 264 yards rushing and 69 yards passing for 333 yards of total offense. Marietta scored 21 points on 190 yards passing and 42 yards rushing for 232 yards of total offense.

BW Leaders: 
Offensively, junior Academic All-OAC quarterback Keagan Armitage (Ashland) has completed 69 of 108 passes for 856 yards with six touchdowns with one interception.  Junior All-OAC running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) leads the OAC in yards with 991 and touchdowns with 16. 

Murray, Jr. is seventh in the NCAA in touchdowns and 13th in yards. Senior wideout Darius Stokes (Canton/GlenOak) leads the receiving corps and is ninth in the OAC in yards with 441 yards on 27 catches with five touchdowns. Defensively, senior Academic All-OAC linebacker Nick Pankow (Medina) tops the team and the OAC with 71 tackles and is tied for sixth in the league with 10 in tackles for loss. Senior All-OAC defensive lineman Sekou Imani (Dover) leads the team and is second in OAC in quarterback sacks with eight.

Scouting the Polar Bears
In week eight of the season, Ohio Northern scored 35 points on 356 yards passing, 183 yards rushing and 539 total yards. Mount Union scored 42, including the game-winning touchdown with 2:14 remaining in the game, on 253 yards passing, 132 yards rushing and 385 total yards. 

Ohio Northern Leaders
Offensively, senior All-OAC quarterback Brody Han as he has completed 168 of 289 passes for 2,583 yards with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions.  Senior All-American running back Brock Martin leads the ground game with 533 yards on 120 carries with five touchdowns.  Senior All-OAC wideout Austin Eick leads the OAC with 949 yards and 11 touchdowns.  Eick is second in the league with 55 catches.  Defensively, senior linebacker Johnny Rupp leads the team and is tied for sixth in the OAC with 60 tackles.

Nationally Ranked
For the fourth straight week, BW is ranked in the D3football.com Poll. The Yellow Jackets enter this week's poll at 21 with 108 votes. BW is also ranked for the first time this season in AFCA National Poll at 25th with 88 points.

Cuyahoga Gold Bowl Game
BW and John Carroll University will meet for the 33rd time in the Battle for the Gold Bowl Trophy in the regular season finale on November 13. John Carroll has won the last seven contests. The last Yellow Jacket victory came in the 2012 season when BW posted a 32-28 victory in University Heights. The Yellow Jackets scored 15 points in the final nine minutes to rally for the victory.
