Today's Contest
Today is fourth home and seventh Ohio Athletic Conference game for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as hosts Marietta College in the annual hall of Fame game.  Last week, BW picked up its sixth win of the season as it defeated Wilmington College by a final score of 41-7 in the 43rd Lee Tressel Shrine Classic.  Marietta fell to John Carroll University by a final score of 19-10.

The Series
BW and Marietta are meeting for 44th time on the gridiron. The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series by a margin of 36-7. BW has won 13 of the last 15 meetings.  The last Pioneer victory came this past spring when the Pioneers won by a final score of 30-20. The series began in 1974 with the Yellow Jackets defeating the Pioneers, 73-0, in Berea

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert
Hilvert is in his fifth season at BW and has a record of  27-12 and OAC slate of 22-12. He is 93-38 in his 11th overall season and is 3-1 against Marietta. 

Marietta Head Coach Andy Waddle 
Waddle is in his ninth season at Marietta and has a record of 32-50 overall and 28-51 mark in the OAC.  He is 2-6 vs. Baldwin Wallace  

Last Game vs. Marietta -- April 19, 2021
BW scored 20 points on 217 yards passing, 19 yards rushing and 236  total yards.  Marietta scored 30 points on 162 yards rushing, 125 yards passing and 287 total yards. 

Scouting the Yellow Jackets: 
In week seven of the season, BW scored 41 points on 359 yards rushing and 158 yards passing for a season-best 517 yards of total offense. Wilmington scored seven points on 146 yards passing and 83 yards rushing for 229 yards of total offense.

BW Leaders: 
Offensively, junior Academic All-OAC quarterback Keagan Armitage (Ashland) has completed 69 of 107 passes for 856 yards with six touchdowns.  Junior All-OAC running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) is second in the OAC and is 15th in NCAA Division III with 851 yards on 119 carries. Murray, Jr. is also the conference leader and is fourth in the NCAA with 15 touchdowns. Senior wideout Darius Stokes (Canton/GlenOak) leads the receiving corps and is sixth in the OAC in yards with 426 yards on 25 catches. Defensively, senior Academic All-OAC linebacker Nick Pankow (Medina) tops the team and is second in the OAC with 64 tackles and is seventh in the league with five in tackles for loss. 

Scouting the Pioneers
In week seven of the season, Marietta scored 10 points on 225 yards passing, 53 yards rushing and 278 total yards. John Carroll scored 19 points, including a 76-yard pick six with 41 seconds left in the game, on 214 yards passing, 26 yards rushing and 214 total yards. 

Marietta Leaders
Offensively, sophomore quarterback Connor Vierstra has completed 120 of 205 passes for 1,347 yards with 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Junior Bryce Agnew leads the OAC and is ninth in the NCAA with 924 yards on 167 carries with four touchdowns. Senior wide out Maguire Morris leads the receiving unit with 257 yards on 26 catches with two touchdowns.  Defensively, senior All-OAC linebacker Drake Neuberger leads the league and is tied for third in the NCAA with 10.5 sacks.  Neuberger has also recorded 46 tackles, including 15 for a loss.

Nationally Ranked
For the third straight week, BW is ranked in the D3football.com Poll.  The Yellow Jackets enter this week's poll at 23 with 88 votes. BW is also receiving votes in the AFCA National Poll and is ranked 26th in the latest poll.

Terrorizing the Backfield
Senior All-OAC defensive end Sekou Imani (Dover), who is this week's OAC defensive Player of the Week, has been terrorizing offenses the past two weeks.  Imani has been virtually unblockable has recorded six sacks , 6.5 tackles for loss, forced two fumbles and recoverd one fumble in the past two games.

Radio Broadcast
BW campus radio station WBWC, 88.3 FM, broadcasts most home and away football games. You also can listen to the games live at www.wbwc.com.  The pregame show generally starts 20 minutes prior to kickoff. 

Cuyahoga Gold Bowl Game
BW and John Carroll University will meet for the 33rd time in the Battle for the Gold Bowl Trophy in the regular season finale on November 13. John Carroll has won the last seven contests. The last Yellow Jacket victory came in the 2012 season when BW posted a 32-28 victory in University Heights. The Yellow Jackets scored 15 points in the final nine minutes to rally for the victory.
