Today's Contest: 
Today is the home opener and third Ohio Athletic Conference game for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as it hosts OAC-leading Heidelberg University. Last week, BW dropped its first game of the season as it fell to No. 3 nationally-ranked the University of Mount Union by a score of 31-7.  Heidelberg defeated Capital University by a score of 48-17 last Saturday  

The Series: 
BW has faced Heidelberg more times on the gridiron than any other opponent as the teams have played 73 games.  The Yellow Jackets hold an 49-24 all-time series lead. The series began in 1897 when BW won by a final score of 10-0 in Berea.

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert: 
Hilvert is in his fifth season at BW and has a record of  23-12 and OAC slate of 19-12. He is 89-38 in his 11th overall season and is 3-0 against Heidelberg. 

Heidelberg Head Coach Scott Donaldson: 
Donaldson is in his sixth season at Heidelberg and has an overall record of 28-17  and an OAC mark of 25-16.  He is 1-3 vs. Baldwin Wallace.

Last Game vs. Heidelberg -- Sept. 28, 2019:
BW scored 34 points on 266 yards passing, 121  yards rushing and 387  total yards.  Heidelberg scored 33 points on 266 yards passing, 180 yards rushing and 446 total yards. 

Scouting the Yellow Jackets: 
In week three of the season, BW scored seven points on 140 yards passing and 120 yards rushing for a 260 yards of total offense. Mount Union scored 31 points on 321 yards passing and 142 yards rushing for 463 yards of total offense.

BW Leaders: 
Offensively, junior Academic All-OAC quarterback Keagan Armitage (Ashland) has completed 27 of 42 passes for 298 yards with one touchdown.  Junior All-OAC running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) leads the OAC and is 11th in NCAA Division III with 269 yards on 64 carries. Murray, Jr. is also the conference leader and tied for third in the NCAA with seven touchdowns. Senior wideout Darius Stokes (Canton/GlenOak) leads the receiving corps and is seventh in the OAC in yards with 204 yards and is tied for eighth in OAC with 13 catches.  Defensively, senior Academic All-OAC linebacker Nick Pankow (Medina) tops the team and is second in the OAC with 29 tackles and is tied for fourth with two quarterback sacks. Junior linebacker Mason Levasseur (Panama City, Fla./South  Walton) is second on the squad with 17 stops.

Scouting the Student Princes:
Heidelberg has played in just two games this season after their week two game against Wilmington College was forfeited due to COVID-19 protocols for the Quakers. In their week three matchup with Capital , the Student Princes scored 48 points on 373 yards passing, 63 yards rushing and 436 total yards. Capital scored 17 points on 146 yards rushing, 128 yards passing and 274 total yards. 

Heidelberg Leaders: 
Offensively, sophomore All-OAC quarterback Drew Sims has completed 38 of 67 passes for 605 yards with nine touchdowns and one interception.  Junior All-OAC running back Montavious Yearby leads the ground attack with 86 yards on 14 carries.  Senior All-OAC wide receiver Dimitri Penick leads the receiving corps with 14 receptions for 245 yards with three touchdowns, which is third in the league. Defensively, junior Academic All-OAC defensive back Griffin Pendry leads the team with 13 tackles.
