No. 2 Baseball's Kilbane Named OAC Hitter of the Week

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University baseball junior utility man Mally Kilbane (Olmsted Township/Olmsted Falls) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for the first time in his career.

Kilbane led the Brown and Gold over Penn State University Behrend and in a doubleheader split against Marietta College where he went 6-for-12 with six RBI to help the Yellow Jackets improve to an overall record of 20-4 and a 5-1 record in conference play. In BW's 19-3 victory over the Lions, Kilbane went 2-for-3 with an RBI single and a two-run triple for a career-best three RBI. He then supplied two of the Yellow Jackets' five hits in Game 1 against Marietta and added another three RBI and two hits in BW's 7-4 victory in Game 2.

In his first season at BW, Kilbane has appeared in all 24 games for the Yellow Jackets where he has collected 34 hits in 83 at bats. He leads the team and is second in the OAC with a .410 batting average and is second on the team in hits with 34. Kilbane has collected 14 RBI, fourth most on the team, and is the team-leader in extra base hits with 13 including 11 doubles. He has also scored 20 runs and has registered a .590 slugging percentage on the year.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action Wednesday, April 10 as they host an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader against the University of Mount Union beginning at 1 p.m. at Fisher Field.
