Harrison Named the ABCA/AETC Division III Region 7 Coach of the Year

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Baldwin Wallace University Baseball Head Coach Brian Harrison has been named the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/AETC NCAA Division III Region 7 Coach of the Year.

Harrison garners the honor for the second straight year after leading BW to its second consecutive NCAA Division III World Series appearance and school-best third place finish. He guided the Yellow Jackets to a school-record 39 wins with 12 losses and a school-best 15-3 record in the Ohio Athletic Conference.  Earlier this season, he was named the OAC Coach of the Year for the second time 

BW advanced to its 10th NCAA Division III Tournament appeared under Harrison's tutelage after receiving an at-large bid into the national tournament.  The Yellow Jackets won the Granville Regional in three games and swept the Aurora (Ill.) Super Regional in two games to punch their ticket to their third NCAA Division III World Series Appearance.  At the World Series, Harrison led BW to a school-record three wins and advanced to the school's first ever championship series.

This season under Harrison's guidance, the Yellow Jackets earned the NCAA Division III's first ever back-to-back Elite 90 player in senior All-American infielder Luke Vonderhaar (New Bremen), an All-American, an Academic All-American, five All-Region players and a conference best 10 All-OAC players.  BW also broke multiple team records, including having the highest winning percentage.

In his 13 years at the helm, Harrison has an overall career record of 329-190-1 and a career 140-83-1 mark in the OAC.
