WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Junior right-handed pitcher Aidan Bennett (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career as he played a big part in two of the wins in a 4-1 week for the No. 9 nationally-ranked Baldwin Wallace University baseball team.

Bennett earned his accolade after he pitched 10 scoreless innings last week. He earned his third win of the season on the mound, starting in the 14-1 win over Wilmington College. In that win, Bennett pitched seven innings, allowing no runs on five hits, and totaled eight strikeouts. Bennett came in to relieve in the 7-1 OAC victory over Muskingum University, throwing three innings, allowing no runs on two hits, and added five more strikeouts for a 13-strikeout total in his 10 innings pitched. He held his opponents to just a .205 batting average.

This season, Bennett has pitched 18 innings and still holds a 0.00 ERA, as no runs have been scored on him, and has posted 29 strikeouts. All four appearances for Bennett this year have resulted in a BW win as they hold an overall record of 17-3.

The Yellow Jackets return to play Thursday, April 7 as they travel crosstown to face Case Western Reserve University in a non-conference single game. The game is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. in Nobby's Ballpark.
