Four Track & Field Student-Athletes Qualify for NCAA Division III Indoor Championships

BEREA, Ohio – Four Baldwin Wallace University track and field student-athletes have earned the right to continue their season at the 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The indoor track and field team will be represented by senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference hurdler ShaDaryll Clark II (Brook Park / Berea-Midpark), junior All-OAC sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman), junior All-OAC distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore), and junior All-OAC high jumper Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst).

Clark qualifies for his first appearance in the indoor championships. He qualifies for the 60-meter hurdles with his qualifying time of 8.13 at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships. At the OAC Indoor Championships, Clark won the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.18, earning his third indoor All-OAC honor. 

Collier makes her first appearance to the indoor championships. She qualifies for the 200-meter dash with her qualifying time of 25.03 at the OAC Indoor Championships, and the 400-meter dash with her time of 56.68 at the Ashland Jud Logan Light Giver Invitational. At the OAC Indoor Championships, Collier won the 400-meter dash in a time of 57.58, earning her ninth career indoor All-OAC honor. Collier was also a part of the 4x400 All-OAC relay team.

Murphy qualifies for her third appearance in the indoor championships. She qualifies for the 800-meter run with her time of 2:10.02 at the Akron Campbell Invitational, and the 3000-meter run with her time of 9:41.37 at the Tufts (Mass.) National Qualifying Meet. Her last indoor championship appearance, Murphy placed sixth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:14.48, earning her first indoor All-America honor. At the OAC Indoor Championships, she was crowned the OAC Champion in the 800-meter run with her time of 2:14.80. She was also a part of the 4x400 All-OAC relay team and earned her 15th career indoor All-OAC honor. Murphy was named the Julie Zajac Indoor Distance Runner of the Year for the third consecutive year.

Pfeiffer makes his second appearance to the indoor championships. He qualifies for the high jump with his qualifying height of 6' 10¾" at the Ashland Jud Logan Light Giver Invitational. Pfeiffer's mark currently ties him for first in the nation. At the OAC Indoor Championships, Pfeiffer won the high jump for the second consecutive year with a height of 6' 9¾", earning his second career indoor All-OAC honor. 

The NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships will be hosted Friday and Saturday, March 8-9 by Norfolk State (Va.) University in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
