Women Picked Fourth, Men Tabbed Sixth in 2023-24 OAC Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's track and field team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2023-24 Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Preseason Coaches Poll, while the men's team has been selected sixth.

The BW women finished fourth in this year's voting with 57 points. Taking the first-place spot is 2022-23 indoor champion, University of Mount Union, with 81 points and nine first-place votes. Coming in second was crosstown rival, John Carroll University, with 73 points and the final first-place vote. Ohio Northern University assumed the third spot with 64 points.

On the men's side, the Yellow Jackets finished sixth with 46 points. Defending 2022-23 indoor champion, University of Mount Union, claimed the top position in the poll with 81 points and nine first-place votes. Trailing behind in second was crosstown rival, John Carroll University, who accumulated 72 points. Ohio Northern University grabbed the third spot with 66 points and the remaining first-place vote. 

In his second season, Head Coach Daniel Simpson is in command of both track and field squads. In the 2022-23 OAC Indoor Championships, the women finished fourth, while the men placed sixth.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday, Jan. 20 to compete in the Spire Midwest Open hosted by Spire Institute.
