Athletics Department Presents 2021 Clyde Lamb Award Winners

BEREA, Ohio --  The Baldwin Wallace University Department of Athletics has announced its Clyde Lamb Award winners.

The Clyde A. Lamb Awards are presented annually to 10 male and 10 female student-athletes from each of the Ohio Athletic Conference institutions. Criteria for the award includes at least two years participation in an OAC-sponsored sport, senior status, a minimum GPA of 3.00 and sportsmanlike conduct in a manner that has brought credit to the student-athlete and his or her institution.

All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC thrower Brooke Buckhannon (Collins/Western Reserve) and All-OAC and Academic All-OAC wrestler Dante Ginnetti (Poland/Seminary) were selected by the coaching staff as the female and male Clyde Lamb Award recipients. 

Buckhannon graduates as one of the top field athletes in the conference. She is a six-time U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Great Lakes Region selection, a 10-time All-OAC performer, a five-time All-Ohio performer, a two-time national qualifier and a 2020 USTFCCCA Indoor All-American. Twice Buckhannon was named the OAC Field Athlete of the Year, and she has been named OAC Field Athlete of the Week a total of eight times.

In the classroom, Buckhannon is a public relations and marketing double major who carries a 3.88 GPA. She is a three-time Academic All-OAC selection, a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic selection, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Alpha Lambda Delta honoraries and a member of the Public Relations Society of America.

Ginnetti finished off his stellar career with a record of 4-2 with eight reversals, four takedowns, two pins and one technical fall in 2021. For his career, Ginnetti, ranks 20th on the all-time wins list with 89 and a record of 89-32.  He is a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection, a two-time NCAA Division III National Championships qualifier and the 2019 NCAA Central Region Most Valuable Wrestler.

Off the mat, Ginnetti is a two-time Academic All-OAC performer, a National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American, a NWCA  All-Academic team selection, a College Sports Information Directors of America All-District 7 At-Large selection, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Chi Sigma honoraries.
