Cleveland Metroparks

The Cleveland Metroparks have been voted the best metropark in the country and we are lucky enough to have it running right next to campus.  From the Rec center it is about a half mile away.  So whether you are looking for a place to get away or a place to walk, bike, run or hike the Metro Park is it.

Wallace Lake Is one of the most used areas in the park  by the track and cross country programs.  It is home to our 2k loop cross country course.  Track uses the area during their fall conditioning workouts and Cross Country will do weekly workouts there.  The 2k loop can be used for interval workouts and even some longer tempo work.  This 2k loop also helps the coaching staff keep an eye on multiple different groups and allows them to individualize workouts and distances.

The bike path and bridle paths are another spot that is used daily by the distance crew.  These trails go on for miles in all directions.  from campus It is 13 miles heading north until the paths dead end into Lake Erie and about 30 miles south where  they connect with the tow path and the Cuyahoga valley national park and its expansive trail system.  We are unbelievably fortunate to have access to all of these parks right out our back door.
