Women’s Track and Field Salutes Four Senior Student-Athletes

BEREA, Ohio -The Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Department and women's track and field program would like to congratulate senior student-athletes Alyssa LaughnerGloria JurcisekNina Curry and Ky'leana Allen on completing their outstanding athletic careers at the University.

The University administration, faculty and staff congratulates these four young women on their outstanding athletic and academic careers as well as their leadership to the women's track and field program. The University would like to wish each of them all the best of luck in their future endeavors and hope that even after graduation that they come back and visit us often. They will always be a Yellow Jacket for Life (YJ4L).

Laughner is a neuroscience and biology double major from Howard, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Central Mountain High School. She earned his third varsity letter this past season. In her career, Laughner competed in the 1-mile run; the 500, 800, 1,000, 1,500, 3,000, 5,000, 10,000 and 3,000 steeplechase. Laughner is an three time All-American overall (two honors in outdoor and one in indoor), earned 11 overall All-OAC honors (four outdoor and seven indoor), three OAC Track Athlete of the Week honors, six time USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region honoree (five events indoor and two in outdoor), Co-Julie Zajac Indoor Distance Runner of the Year, Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Distance Athlete of the Year, and four time quilifier for NCAA D3 Track and Filed Championships (three for outdoor and one for indoor). In addition, she is a three-time letterwinner in women's cross country. Off the track, she is a Jacket Scholar, dean's list student, member of Chi Alpha Sigma Honors Society, USTFCCCA All-Academic selection, three - time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection, and College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District. Laughner is the daughter of Allen and Michelle Sherman of Howard. 

 

 

Jurcisek is a digital marketing major from Cleveland, Ohio and a graduate of Normandy High School. She earned her first varsity letter this past season. In her career, Jurcisek competed in high jump and long jump. Off the track, she is a jacket scholar nad member of Chi Alpha Sigma Honors Society. She is the daughter of 

 

 

 

 

 

Allen is a psychology major from Columbus, Ohio and a graduate of Bishop Hartley High School. She earned her third varsity letter this past season. In her career, Allen competed in 55, 60, 100, 200, and 400. She earned two All-OAC honors (one in indoor and one in outdoor). Off the track, Allen is a dean's list student. She is the daughter of Erycka Allen of Columbus. 

 

 

 

 

Curry is a biology major from North Olmsted, Ohio and a graduate of North Olmsted High School. She is a varsity letter winner. In her career, Curry competed in the 55, 60, 100 and 200. She is the daughter of Michell Curry.
