Murphy Earns Third OAC Track Athlete of the Week Honors

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - For the third time this season and the fourth time in her track and field career, sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) has been named OAC track athlete of the week.

Murphy won the 800-meter run this past weekend at Walsh Tune-Up Invitational in 2:11.82, breaking her previous personal record. She is currently ranked first in the OAC for her 800-meter run this weekend. She is also ranked first in the conference for 1500-meter performace time of 4:31.02 at the Jesse Owens Classic hosted by The Ohio State University on April 22nd. Murphy is now ranked 11th ranked nationally for her 800-meter performance at Walsh and eighth nationally for her 1500-meter performace at Jesse Owens Classic.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action Thursday, May 5th when it hosts the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships inside George Finnie Stadium.
