Dean Morse '03 finished his fifth season as head women's tennis coach at Baldwin Wallace University in 2022-2023. His goal is to return the women's team to a championship-winning atmosphere.

"Baldwin-Wallace has a rich, winning tradition in women's tennis and in the mid-2000s dominated the Ohio Athletic Conference by winning four regular season titles and earning berths each season to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament," said Morse, who is 26th all-time in singles wins (53-6 record with an .898 winning percentage) and 23rd in doubles victories (57-17 with a .779 winning prcentage). "Our goals are to rebuild the program from the ground up and then get back to winning OAC titles and making appearances in the Div. III National Championship Tournament.

Morse, a former Yellow Jacket student-athlete, earned four varsity letters and was a two-year captain for the men's tennis team. He holds the BW and Ohio Athletic Conference record for most consecutive singles wins with 35. As a senior, Morse earned honorable mention All-OAC honors as well as led the team to an undefeated season (22-0) and a conference championship. Morse also played one season of basketball (1999-2000) and played one season of golf in the spring of 2000. He was an Academic All-OAC honors.

"Our first priority is to recruit good, solid student-athletes who graduate and go on to have a successful and productive life," said Morse. "We love to work with young women who are goal-oriented in the classroom and on the tennis court, want to win and want to have agreat deal of fun doing it."

After graduating from BW, Morse went on to Perry High School where he served as an assistant coach for the varsity girls tennis team in 2004. He also served as the Head Professional at the Paramount Tennis Club in 2006. As the Head Professional at the club, Morse taught private lessons to both adults and youth athletes, as well as coordinated programs and events. Morse also manages the summer United States Tennis Association (USTA) adult practices and assisted team captains in coordinating team line-ups. He accumulated more head coaching experience as the varsity girls leader at Akron Archbishop Hoban High School in 2009. He was named as Coach of the Year in 2011.

Morse earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from BW in 2003. He is a certified member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) since 2005 and the United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR) since 2004.

"We feel that we have a first-class facility and the support of our faculty and administration to be a very successful program going forward," said Morse.
