Women’s Tennis Drops a Highly Contested Match to Adrian

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team dropped a highly contested match to non-conference opponent Adrian (Mich.) College by a final score of 5-4. 

In the doubles portion of the match, senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Ashtyn Morris (Salem) and sophomore All-OAC Gabriela Heideman (Doylestown/Wadsworth) picked up a win for BW (0-2) in the No.1 spot with a score of 8-6. The Yellow Jackets trailed Adrian (1-2) 2-1 after doubles.

In singles, Heideman picked up another win for Yellow Jackets in the No. 2 spot with scores of 6-3 and 6-3. Sophomore Kierstyn Yates (Grafton/Midview) picked up her first win of the season in the No. 3 spot with scores of 6-2, 4-6 and 1-0 (10-2). In the last match to finish, freshmen Hanna LeMaster (Avon) picked up her first collegiate win in straight sets of 6-2 and 6-2. However, it wasn't enough as BW fell 5-4.

The Yellow Jackets return to action to Saturday, September 18 when they travel to Wooster to take on The College of Wooster at 1:00 p.m. on the D.J. Hard Tennis Courts.
