Women’s Soccer Team Falls To Otterbein

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team lost to Otterbein University, 1-0, tonight (Saturday, October 8, 2011) in an Ohio Athletic Conference match on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium.  This was the first game of and women's and men's OAC doubleheader.  The B-W and Otterbein men kickoff at 7:00 p.m.

With its win, Otterbein improved to 6-4-1 overall and 3-0 in the OAC. B-W fell to 8-5 overall and 1-2 in the OAC and ended a two-match winning streak.

Otterbein scored the lone goal of the match as Emily Bates knocked in the corner kick from Ali Stone at the 21:07 minute mark in the first half. 

In net for the Yellow Jackets, freshman Gabrielle Bodo (Alliance/St. Thomas Aquinas) tallied five saves while surrendering the lone goal.

The Cardinals held a 10-7 advantage in shots and won the corner kick battle 11-3.

The Yellow Jackets are back will return to Ohio Athletic Conference action on Wednesday, October 12 when they travel to Tiffin to play Heidelberg University at 7:00 p.m. The next home match is on Tuesday, Oct. 18 when B-W hosts rival the University of Mount Union in Finnie Stadium at 7:00 p.m.

On Saturday, October 22, the Yellow Jacket men's and women's soccer teams will host Ohio Athletic Conference foe Wilmington College in a doubleheader that will be televised by SportsTime Ohio (STO).  This is the fourth straight year that B-W has televised a soccer doubleheader and will put a perfect 6-0 record on the line.
