BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team defeated St. Vincent (Pa.) College, 3-0, today (Tuesday, September 27, 2011) in a non-conference match on the Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium. 

With the victory, B-W posted its second straight shutout and improves to 6-3 on the season and the Bearcats falls to 4-4-1 on the season. 

The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring when sophomore midfielder/forward Rachel Gokey (Seville/ Lodi Cloverleaf) scored the unassisted breakaway goal at the 38:58 mark. Just 1:44 later, B-W added to its lead, 2-0, when senior forward Noelle Fox (Canfield) scored off the assist from senior midfielder Lindsey Cooper (Westerville/ New Albany) at 40:42.

The Yellow Jackets scored the only goal of the second half when Cooper took the pass from Gokey and buried it into the lower left corner at 74:34.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action tomorrow when they travel to Bexley to open Ohio Athletic Conference play versus the Capital University Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. This Saturday, October 1, the B-W men and women are at home to play a doubleheader against Marietta College. The women kickoff at 1:00 p.m. and the men play at 3:30 p.m.

On Saturday, October 22, the Yellow Jacket men's and women's soccer teams will host Ohio Athletic Conference foe Wilmington College in a doubleheader that will be televised by SportsTime Ohio (STO).  This is the fourth straight year that B-W has televised a soccer doubleheader and will put a perfect 6-0 record on the line.
