Women’s Soccer Team Falls To Capital University

BEXLEY, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team opened Ohio Athletic Conference play tonight (Wednesday, September 28, 2011) by falling to Capital University by a final score of 6-1 at Bernlohr Stadium.  

With the loss, B-W snapped a two-game winning streak and fell to 6-4 overall and 0-1 in the OAC.  With the victory, the Crusaders improved to 3-5-1 overall and 1-0 in the OAC.

Capital jumped out to a 5-0 advantage, including 2-0 a halftime lead.   The Yellow Jackets scored their lone goal of the game     at the 70:33 mark when forward Heather Keller (Parma) scored her team-high tying fourth goal off the second assist of the season for sophomore midfielder Hanna Cavalier (Chippewa Lake/Cloverleaf).  The Crusaders would tack on more goal for the  6-1 victory.

Capital outshot B-W, 18-10, and won the corner battle 5-4.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Saturday, October 1 when they plays host to the Pioneers of Marietta College in an OAC men's and women's soccer doubleheader on the Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium.  The women kickoff at 1:00 p.m. with the men to follow at 3:00 p.m.
