Wrestling Honors Eight Senior Student-Athletes

BEREA, Ohio –   The Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Department and wrestling program would like to congratulate senior student-athletes Stanley BleichAidan Cardaman, Quinton Kelley, Kevin Kelly, Dalton Leightner, Tanner McHugh, Jarod Miller and Dominic Shelley on completing their outstanding athletic careers at the University.

The University administration, faculty and staff congratulates these six young men on their outstanding athletic and academic careers as well as their leadership to the wrestling program. The University would like to wish each of them all the best of luck in their future endeavors and hope that even after graduation that they come back and visit us often. They will always be a Yellow Jacket for Life (YJ4L).

Bleich is a business administration graduate major and an All-American and four-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer from North Ridgeville and a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School.  This season, he had a record of 31-9 with six major decisions, two technical falls and one pinfall.  Bleich was a NCAA Division III qualifier at 157-pounds, an All-OAC first-team selection and a All-Central Region performer. For his career, Bleich is the school's all-time wins leader list with 136 victories. He recorded 35 major decisions, 10 pinfalls and six technical falls.  Off the mat, he is a four-time National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American, three-time Academic All-OAC selection, College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society and the 2021 BW Kenneth Steingass Most Outstanding Male Athlete Award recipient. Bleich is the son of Stanley (Bleich) and Jeanine Buga.

 

 

Cardaman is a health and physical education major from Geneva, Ohio and a graduate of Geneva High School.  This season, he has a record of 23-11 with six pinfalls, four major decisions and two technical falld.  For his career, Cardaman had 34 victories with 10 pinfalls, seven major decisions and two technical falls. Off the mat, he is a two-time Academic All-OAC selection, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.  Cardaman is the son of Tony and Deborah Cardaman.

 

 

 

 

Kelley is a communications studies major from Akron, Ohio and a graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School.  He has missed three of his four seasons due to injury. In his career, Kelley has four victories with eight escapes, five near falls, five takedowns, three pinfalls and one technical fall. He is the son of Frank and Kristina Kelley.

 

 

 

 

  

Kelly is a marketing major and All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer from North Olmsted, Ohio and a graduate of North Olmsted High School. This season, he had a record of 2-2 with two pinfalls after returning from injury. For his career, Kelly has 35 victories with nine major decisions, five pinfalls, and four technical falls.  Off the mat, he is a National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American and an Academic All-OAC selection. Kelly is the son of Doug and Cheron Kelly.

 

 

 

  

Leightner is a health care management graduate major and All-American from Ravenna, Ohio and a graduate of Rootstown High School. This season, he had a record of 27-10 with 13 pinfalls, two technical falls and one major decision.  Leightner was a NCAA Division III qualifer at 165-pounds and a All-Central Region performer. For his career, Leightner ranks 10th on the all-time wins list with 105 victories.  He has recorded 22 pinfalls, 18 technical falls and 12 major decisions.  Off the mat, Leightner is a two-time National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American and a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week winner. He is the son of Jeff Leightner and Helene Papczum.

 

 


 

McHugh is a business administration graduate major and All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer from New Ringgold, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Tamaqua High School.  This season, he had a record of 18-7 with one pinfall and four major decisions.  For his career, McHugh ranks tied for 23rd on the school's all-time wins list with 83.  He has recorded 14 major decisions, five pinfalls and one technical fall. Off the mat, he is a three-time National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American, three-time Academic All-OAC selection, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.  McHugh is the son of Rodney and Karen McHugh.

 

 


  

Miller is a business administration major from Greenville, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Reynolds High School.   This season, he had a record of 23-19 with seven pinfalls and two major decisions.  For his career, Miller has 66 victories with 16 pinfalls, six major decisions and two technical falls. He is the son of Brad and Beth Miller.

 

 

 

 

 

Shelley is an engineering major from Mentor, Ohio and a graduate of Mentor High School. This season, he had a record of 19-19 with five pinfalls and one major decision.  For his career, Shelley has 38 victories with 12 pinfalls, two major decisions and one technical fall.  Off the mat, he is a Dean's List student. Shelley is the son of Jerry and Toni Shelley.
