Wrestling Rolls Out 2021-22 Schedule

BEREA, Ohio – Under the direction of five-time Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestling Coach of the Year Jamie Gibbs, the Baldwin Wallace University wrestling has announced its 2021-22 schedule.

BW, who won its fifth OAC Championship in the last six seasons during the 2021 campaign, opens the season at the two-day Ithaca (N.Y.) Invitational on November 5 and 6 and then travel to Angola, Indiana on November 13 to compete in the Trine Invitational.   The Yellow Jackets open OAC action in their home opener against the University of Mount Union on November 16 before hosting the BW Invitational on November 20.  BW closes out the first month of action with an OAC dual on the road against Otterbein on November 30.

The month of December features trips to Naperville, Illinois for the 57th North Central College Invitational on December 11, a trip to Sandusky for the Kalahari Duals hosted by Heidelberg University and a trip to Olivet, Michigan for duals against NCAA Division I Michigan State University Duals and Olivet College on December 18.

The Yellow Jackets open the 2022 portion of its schedule when it travels to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Duals on January 6 and 7.  BW then travels to North Manchester, Indiana to compete in the annual Spartan Mat Classic hosted by Manchester University.

The Yellow Jackets close out January with OAC duals against Wilmington College on January 18, John Carroll University, Muskingum University and Ohio Northern University on January 22 and a trip to Crawfordsville, Indiana to compete in the Wabash College Invitational on January 22.

The final month of the regular season opens with the 35th Annual John Summa Invitational on February 5.  BW closes out OAC action on February with an OAC dual at Heidelberg University.  The regular season comes to an end on the weekend of February 11 and 13 when the Yellow Jackets travel to Fairmont, West Virginia for a dual match against NCAA Division II West Liberty on February 11 and the John Carroll Open on February 13.

The NCAA Central Regional Championships hosted by Adrian (Mich.) College will be contested on February 25 and 26.  The NCAA Division III National Championships will be held on March 11 and 12 at the U.S. Cellular Arena in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
