No. 7 Wrestling Takes Down West Liberty (W. Va.) on Seniors' Night

BEREA, Ohio – On Seniors' Night, the No. 7 Nationally-Ranked Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team defeated NCAA Division II opponent, West Liberty (W. Va.) University 24-12 in the Lou Higgins Center, inside Ursprung Gymnsium.

BW (13-3 overall) tallied five decisions, one major decision, and one technical fall.

Junior No. 5 Nationally-ranked two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC 157-pounder Stanley Bleich (North Ridgeville/Elyria Catholic) started the match with a 4-0 decision. Bleich is now 34-2 on the season and carries a 92-18 career mark.

Junior 157-pounder Dalton Leightner (Ravenna/Rootstown) secured a 12-2 major decision to give BW a 7-0 lead. Leightner is now 25-9 this year with six major decisions.

Senior All-OAC 165-pounder Benjamin Hooff (Worthingon/Thomas Worthington) followed with a 5-4 narrow decision to give the Yellow Jackets a 10-0 lead. Hooff is now 14-3 this campaign.

Freshman 174-pounder Luke Salmon (Sandusky/Perkins) grabbed a 5-4 decision with a late-round takedown to push him past his opponent. Salmon is 21-8 on the season.

Senior No. 5 All-American and two-time All-OAC 197-pounder Zeckary Lehman (Akron/Revere) notched a narrow 2-0 decision to extend the Yellow Jacket lead to 16-3. Lehman improves to 26-4 on the year and owns a 115-28 career mark.

Sophomore 285-pounder Parker Meaney (Ashtabula/Lakeside) secured a 3-2 decision in his bout and improves to 13-11 on the season.

Senior No. 4 All-American and Academic All-OAC 141-pounder Charlie Nash (Norwalk) seized an 18-1 technical fall over his opponent and improves to 27-7 on the year with six tech falls. Nash currently sits at No. 8 on BW's all-time career wins list with a mark of 106-40.

BW will hit the mats next on Sunday, February, 16 for the John Carroll University Open. Matches begin at 10 a.m.
