ACADEMIC MAJOR:   Exercise Science

BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Andrew Shackelford competed in his second season of wrestling at Baldwin Wallace University in 2014-2015. The NWCA (National Wrestling Coaches Association) Scholar All-American and Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference student-athlete earned his second varsity letter.

ACADEMIC HONORS: Andrew carries a 3.682 grade point average, is a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar. As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Andrew earned Academic All-OAC and NWCA Scholar All-American honors.

ATHLETIC HONORS: As a freshman in 2013-2014, Andrew was named as the BW "Rookie of the Year".

GENERAL WRESTLING INFORMATION: As a freshman in 2013-14, Andrew completed his first season of wrestling and earned his first varsity letter. He was the starter at 184 pounds and compiled a 18-15 overall record with five pins and one technical fall. He also had 18 takedowns, 35 escapes, one reversal and seven total near falls. For his efforts, Andrew was named as the BW "Rookie of the Year". BW finished 8-3 overall.

As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Andrew competed in his second season of wrestling and earned his second varsity letter. He earned Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors and NWCA Scholar All-American honors. BW set a single-season school-record with 17 wins and a 17-6 record, including a 4-1 mark in OAC duals, won the John Summa Memorial Tournament, placed sixth at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional and 20th at the 2015 Div. III National Championship Tournament.

As a junior in 2015-2016, Andrew is competing in his third season of wrestling and hopes to earn his third letter.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Andrew grew up in Worthington, Ohio and graduated from Thomas Worthington High School in the spring of 2013.  

Andrew competed in wrestling for four years and earned four varsity letters. He also played lacrosse for two seasons and lettered once.
