BEREA, OHIO -- Freshman 125-pounder Jesse Gunter (Akron/Coventry) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler-of-the-Week for his efforts at last weekend's Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) Invitational.

Gunter won his first collegiate championship as he won his weight class at the Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College Invitational Tournament with a perfect 4-0 record. He had a pin, a major decision victory and won twice by-decision en route to placing first.

In addition to his individual title, Gunter placed third place finish at the Ithaca (N.Y.) Invitational in his first action as a collegian.  He is now an impressive 8-1 overall after his first two weeks of action.

Gunter and the rest of the BW wrestling team is back in action this Saturday, November 17 when they travel to Ashland to compete in the 18th Annual Harris Open Invitational hosted by Ashland University at 10:00 a.m.
